Mike Lubben is the Director of Global Risk Management for Henry Crown and Company in Chicago. Henry Crown and Company is one of the largest privately held companies in the United States. It is a large multi-national conglomerate of real estate, manufacturing and managed leisure operations with over 16,000 employees.
Mike has over 30 years of experience in Risk Management with the majority of time leading Risk Management Departments for Fortune 500 or large privately held firms (such as Tempur-Sealy and Ryder Trucks). He has been the President of several captive insurance companies and led the formation of others.
He has been a faculty member for the National Alliance of Insurance Education (presenting at Certified Risk Manager courses nationally), a regular “visiting professor” for RIMS’ “Risk Manager in Residence” Program and has spoken at the annual Business Insurance conference, Captive Insurance Companies Association (CICA) and many other industry functions.
Mike has a Master’s of Business Administration (MBA) in finance from St. Ambrose University (Davenport, IA) with an undergraduate degree from The University of Iowa (Iowa City, IA). He has executive MBA diplomas from the Darden School of Business (University of VA; Charlottesville, VA) and the London Business School (London, England). He holds the industry designations of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Certified Risk Manager (CRM) and Associate in Claims (AIC). Just recently, the team Mike leads was chosen as one of four finalists by Business Insurance as “Risk Management Team of the Year.”
