She started her career as an engineer for General Electric and later went on to earn an M.B.A. from Kellogg School of Management. She held the top Risk Management Position for fortune 500 companies including Mondelez International, Kraft Foods Inc., Borg-Warner Automotive and Brunswick Corporation. She is an active member of the Risk Management community in Chicago and has been named one of Business Insurance’s “Women to Watch”. She has won “Risk Innovator” awards from both Risk & Insurance and AON. She is past chair of the MAPI Risk Management Council, as well as a past member of the ACE, Swiss Re and FM advisory boards.
During her career, she has played an active role in Washington, D.C., through the Labor Policy Association (LPA), and has represented the United States at the International Labor Association, a United Nations agency.
