Raising the bar for The New Generation of Risk to launch risk and insurance connections for the new decade

September 17, 2020

8:00 am – 7:30 pm

The Old Post Office

433 W Van Buren Street
Chicago, IL 60607

Greetings from the 2020 Chicagoland Risk Forum Co-Chairs: Gail Bartholomew and Robert Benvenuto

On behalf of the Chicago RIMS Chapter, we are excited to share details of the 2020 Chicagoland Risk Forum (CRF), The New Generation of Risk.  As we enter a new decade, CRF is moving to a new venue, and a new format.

Plan to join us at The Old Post Office (across from Union Station) on September 17, 2020 for a full day of panel discussions, industry speakers, networking opportunities, and educational breakout sessions, followed by a fun and lively cocktail reception.

The Old Post Office has recently transformed from an old, neglected, vacant structure on the edge of Chicago’s loop, to a truly unique, modern, and inviting space overlooking the Chicago river.  Elements of the building’s history have been retained and offer a glimpse into a pre-e-mail era.  We’re delighted to host CRF in this world class setting.

The CRF Committees, in partnership with the greater Midwest risk management and insurance community, are already hard at work to deliver a premier risk event providing leading education, professional development, and relationship building opportunities to help our constituents achieve success in The New Generation of Risk.  To keep our event focused on education and growth, we have eliminated the exhibit hall.  Attendees and sponsors can connect in an open and casual environment.

In addition to our full day event on September 17, CRF will offer a Risk Manager only Round Table event on the afternoon of September 16, at a Loop location to be announced.  This event will be hosted by CRF sponsors and will have limited seating (first-come first-serve availability), followed by a private dinner.  More information will follow as details are confirmed.

We look forward to seeing everyone at The Old Post Office for The New Generation of Risk!

The Old Post Office

The transformation of Chicago’s long-neglected Old Post Office building reached a crucial milestone in late Fall 2019 as it officially took the wraps off its $800 million makeover. The three-year effort to revive the vacant 1921 Art Deco structure designed by Graham, Anderson, Probst & White represents the single largest adaptive reuse project in the nation.
